Encouraging healthy choices in the retail store environment: Combining product information and shelf allocation

Nutritional information and the visibility of healthier food products inside store are believed to be important variables in helping shoppers make healthy choices. However, there remain gaps our understanding how consumers select they include complex nutritional decision-making process, a stimuli rich environment. This research tests impact different combinations (information space management) on selection products. Through within-between subjects on-line experiment, set hypotheses relating provision (communication) management (shelf display) were tested for two product categories: cereal bars breakfast cereals. The sample comprised 249 participants within UK. Results show that is no single unique solution encourage characteristics category, frequency purchase, way displayed shelf complexity provided matter. paper enriches literature about choice behaviours by exploring combined interventions store.
